Fake Away

I’m not a chef.

I don’t even pretend to be one.

I’m not a professional cook either.

I am a Mum who cooks food. I cook a lot of food every single day…
But my skills are a far cry from Master Chef!

The recipes I’m sharing with you are raw, rustic, and generally unrefined.

They are developed and cooked up in a kitchen that’s filled with mess and mayhem.
Just because I’m not a professionally trained chef doesn’t mean I can’t share great food with you. You don’t ever need to be as perfect as the images in a recipe book.

My recipes are good honest food for all the family, and I never include a recipe that ended in an epic fail! I’ll just share it on social media so we can all laugh at it 🙂 Anything that makes the cut, I take a picture to share the recipe with you right here; the lighting may not be correct, the angle a bit sketchy, and the image slightly blurry, but that’s what it’s all about. Good food that hasn’t been glamourised.

It’s the food I like to cook and the food I serve at home. Dishes the kids love and meals I knock up for friends and family. So come on in and have a look – see if anything takes your fancy – we hope you enjoy every single unrefined delight!

By doing this, I know we are having freshly cooked, healthy, nutritious dinners every day of the week. The… Read More Family Feasts

Fake Away

Everyone enjoys a takeaway. We are a family who loves them! In fact, we went through a stage where we were probably having takeaway once or twice a week because both Beard and I were so busy, we just didn’t have time to cook. The problem is they can be calorific and packed with salt.… Read More Fake Away

Meat Free For Meat Eaters

When I was 14, I decided to become a vegetarian because my best friend Zoe was. I lasted 3 days and thought I was going to die of malnutrition because, at the time, I hardly ate fruit or vegetables, so I mainly survived on mashed potato and Heinz Spaghetti Hoops! Fast forward all these years… Read More Meat Free For Meat Eaters

Kids Happy Foods

Despite the rule of “don’t play with your food”, my boys have always been able to play with their lunch – I call it feeding their minds and below you can find some of our favourites that work perfectly as a treat, as a bribe to try new foods, or to wow your guests at… Read More Kids Happy Foods
